The Guy Liddell Diaries

From the outbreak of World War II in September 1939 and his resignation from MI5 in May 1953, Guy Liddell maintained a daily diary that he dictated every evening, In it described espionage investigations, political scandal, molehunts and counter-intelligence operations of every kind. He had no expectation that this material ever be read outside his organisation, but they are now available in two volumes covering the war, and a further three dealing with the beginning of the Cold War.
